(iv)       Questions 8 and 9 are also short answer type questions. These questions carry three marks each.
(v)        Question number 10 and 12 are long answer type questions and carry five marks each.

2.    Write 3 differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell. Make a comparison and write down ways in which plant cells are different from animal cells.

9.    Where are proteins synthesized inside the cell?
10.  Why cell membrane is called as selectively permeable membrane? Who discovered the structure of cell membrane? What would happen if the plasma membrane ruptures or breaks down?
11.  If the organisation of a cell is destroyed due to some physical or chemical influence, what will happen?

12.  Write down the difference between diffusion and osmosis. What is the difference between hypertonic and hypotonic solution.
