Problems for practice”Try to do these numerical by yourself after practicing numerical from notes 1-2 times.
Based on quantization of charge
1.      How many numbers of electrons constitutes one coulomb of charge? (Ans:6.25X1018 electrons)
2.      Estimate the number of electrons and protons in 200 g of pure water and also calculate the effective nuclear charge in this water sample?   (6.692X1025, 1.07X107C).
3.      Estimate the number of electrons and protons in 250 g of pure water and also calculate the effective nuclear charge in this water sample?   (1.34X107C)
4.      A polythene piece is rubbed with wool and it has been found to acquire a negative charge of 3X10-7 C. (i) How many electrons have transferred from wool to polythene piece? (ii) How much is the transfer of mass from wool to polythene takes place.
5.      As per latest research, a proton and a neutron consist of 3 constituent particles denoted by X of charge +2e/3 , and Y of charge -1e/3, together with electrons build up the matter, find a possible composition of proton and neutron.(Ams:XXY).
6.      If 109 electrons move out of a body to another body every second, how much time is required to get a total charge of 1C on the other body (Ans:198 years approx).
7.      A copper atom consists of copper nucleus surrounded by 29 electrons. The atomic weight of copper is 63.5 g/mole. Let us now take two pieces of copper each weighing 10g and transfer one electron from one piece to another for every 1000 atoms in that piece, then calculate the magnitude of charge on each piece. (Ans:-15.12 C)
8.      An electrically neutral coin of mass m=3.0g contains equal amount of positive and negative charge. Assuming, the coin is made up of pure copper, what is the magnitude q of total positive (or negative) charge on the coin? Molar mass of copper=63.5 g mole-1 (Ans:1.32X105C) .
9.      Calculate the ratio of charge of an alpha particle to that of a deuteron.
10.  What is the meaning of quantization of charge. Does 1.6X10-20C charge exists in nature.

And this is the story from “The Hindu” Newspaper when I searched something extra about the toppers of IIT:
Koneti Srinivasulu, son of a poor weaver from Nellore secured the 34th rank. He has come this far, but has no idea what the future held for him. “My father earns about Rs 1,000 per month,” said Srinivasulu. “He will not be able to pay my IIT fee,” he said. This poor student, is now pinning his hopes on gaining a scholarship.

In academics, as in tennis, it pays to keep time with an ace player. Pydimarri Arun of Vijaywada, who got the national second rank in IIT-JEE (mains), was trying to keep pace with his brother who won the 60th rank and got into IIT Mumbai.

And always remember the world is very competitive so you have to work extremely very hard. Thus, enhance your learning capacity, sitting capacity, and thinking capacity because this world has many other god gifts children (who are working hard also). Thus, to show your brilliance among them you have to work definitely very very hard. No others quotations now…………………………………………………………………….

Nothing to say more to all of you because who wants success, definitely knows how to achieve it. Hope you can fulfill your dreams and desires.

YOUR HARD WORK AND MY GUIDANCE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
